PRAYERS

Before class:

1. Today, O God, make me. brave enough to face the things of which I am afraid, strong enough to overcome the temptations which try to make me selfish; persevering enough to finish every task that is given to me to do; kind enough always to be ready to help others; obedient enough to obey your voice whenever you speak to me through my conscience. Help me to live in purity to speak in truth, to act in love all through today. I offer this prayer through Christ our Lord.

2. O God, thank you for all the things and the people who make such a difference in my life. Thank you for my Parents/Guardians and for all that they give me and all that they do for me; my house and for all the happiness and the comfort which are always waiting there for me; my friends in whose company I am happy, my school and teachers and for everything I learn there to make me able to serve others. I offer this prayer through Christ our Lord.

3. Lord, make me an instrument of peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. a Divine Master, grant that I may never so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved as to love; to forgive as to be forgiven.

For, it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

4. Lord, teach me to be generous; to serve you as you deserve; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, it is enough that I do your will, O Lord. Hear this my prayer, through Christ our Lord

5. O God, who are Truth and the Origin of all knowledge, bless our studies which we consecrate to you. Enlighten our minds, strengthen our memories and direct our wills towards what is right. I offer this prayer through Christ our Lord.

6. O God, give me wisdom that I may always be able to distinguish between that which is momentarily pleasant and that which is of lasting good. Give me courage always to do the right thing when I am afraid to do it. Give me self control so that no moments of impulse or passion may sweep me into mistakes I would regret later. Above all, give me love, that I may love all as you love them, and that there may not be hatred in my heart. Hear this my prayer through Christ our Lord.

After Class:

7. O God, infinite Wisdom and Source of all knowledge, grant that we may remember what we have learned. We offer you our work and endeavors. our failures and success. Forgive us our shortcomings and give us the courage to follow always the path of truth.

Lord’s Prayer:

8. Our Father in heaven, holy be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today, our daily bread, forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Do not bring us to the test, but deliver us form evil.

-AMEN.

SCHOOL ANTHEM

The clarion call of conquering heights

Is heard o’er Sikkim’s terrain

And the serried ranks of Xavierites

Are marching to its strain;

With spirits high and hearts ablaze

And minds that surely know

‘Tis ours mid dark and erring ways

The light of truth to show

Our Alma Mater’s, White and Blue,

Rouse us to action true;

‘FOR GOD AND COUNTRY’ is our cry,

Our standards ever high;

Knowledge is our weapon sure,

Values which endure,

Selfless service, our goal so grand,

To our dear Motherland!
